Sky-Walls was born out of a visionary idea and a lifelong passion for energy efficiency and sustainability.
The journey began with Oren Aharon, the founder of Sky-Walls, who defines himself as an inventor at heart. With around 50 patents to his name in the U.S., mostly in optics and lasers, Oren has a proven track record of innovation through his other company, Duma Optronics. However, his interest in energy and sustainability can be traced back to the 1990s, when he served as an assistant to the Minister of Energy. This role left a lasting impression, fueling his passion for sustainable energy solutions for the next three decades.
Years later, as Oren observed the staggering energy consumption in the building industry, he envisioned a groundbreaking solution—an adaptive facade technology that could revolutionize energy use in urban architecture. This vision led to the founding of Sky-Walls and the development of the patented Autonomous Facade Module (AFM).
In December 2020, Sky-Walls earned recognition from the Ministry of Energy, receiving a prestigious award for innovative energy-efficient startups. The company successfully completed its Proof of Concept project within the required two years, demonstrating the potential of its adaptive facade technology.
Despite the momentum, 2023 presented challenges. With the global shift post-COVID, the pace slowed, and most of the team transitioned to other endeavors. However, Sky-Walls experienced a resurgence in November 2023, with the arrival of Hilany Yelloz, a new immigrant from France with expertise in energy and sustainability. With an engineering degree in Systems Engineering specializing in Energy, Process, and Environment, and a Master’s in Energy and Processes, her academic focus on green building and solar panel systems aligned perfectly with Sky-Walls’ mission.
With Hilany’s leadership and Oren’s vision and drive, Sky-Walls secured vital investments from the Israeli Innovation Authority and private investors, amounting to approximately 3 million NIS. These funds enabled Sky-Walls to enter a new phase of growth, refining its cutting-edge technology and positioning the company as a leader in sustainable building solutions.
Today, Sky-Walls continues to innovate, blending science, technology, and a relentless drive to create smarter facades for a more sustainable future.

At Sky-Walls, our vision is to revolutionize the building industry, making energy-efficient, innovative solutions the norm rather than the exception. The building sector has long been resistant to change, with new ideas for minimizing energy consumption often dismissed at first. Over time, however, the right solutions manage to break through, proving their value and gaining acceptance. We believe that one day, constructing buildings with cutting-edge technologies that reduce energy costs will be standard practice, not an extraordinary exception. Our mission is to drive this transformation by developing advanced facade systems that empower buildings to respond intelligently to environmental changes, optimize energy use, and reduce their carbon footprint. Through continuous innovation, we aim to make sustainable buildings accessible and cost-effective, contributing to a greener, more energy-efficient world.
Achievements and Awards
December 2020
Awarded support from the Ministry of Energy’s Governmental Energy Department for our Innovative Start-ups Energy-Efficient Adaptive Facade project. This recognition marked a significant step in validating the potential of our technology.
January 2023
Successfully completed the Proof of Concept phase, demonstrating the viability of our Autonomous Facade Module (AFM). A comprehensive report was submitted, outlining the results and confirming the effectiveness of our solution.
July 2024
Secured 3 Million NIS in funding from the Israeli Innovation Authority and private investors, bringing the total investment raised since Sky-Walls' inception to approximately $1 million. This milestone enabled us to expand and accelerate the development of our groundbreaking technology.
